Position Overview:

As a postdoctoral fellow in Pharmacology you will work with a highly collaborative team of scientists from colleagues in In Vitro and In Vivo Pharmacology, Discovery Biology (Immuno Oncology, Oncology and Immunology), Imaging, Pharmacokinetics/Drug Metabolism and Informatics and Analytics to conceive, design, plan and implement experiments to characterize how components of the tumor microenvironment influence tumor development and regulate response to therapeutic agents.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Lead the development and implementation of 3D in vitro tumor organoids, the execution of functional activity assays in the organoids, and the adaptation of the assays to laboratory automation and high throughput assay technologies

- Design, conduct, graph, interpret and report in vivo pharmacology studies to identify gene signatures associated with response to therapeutic agents

- Collaborate with members from other functional groups, including discovery biology, in vitro pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, drug metabolism/pharmacokinetics, and safety assessment to build a translational platform to better predict response to drug treatment


Education Minimum Requirement:

- PhD with 3 years or less of postdoctoral experience or met all the requirements for a PhD by May 2016

Required Experience and Skills:

- Knowledge of tumor biology and the role of immune checkpoint regulators

- Experience in cell assay development, validation and innovation

- Experience with in vivo tumor models

Preferred Experience and Skills:

- Ability to design experiments, interpret and track results, and utilize this information to enable assay development

- Experience using pharmacological tools in preclinical models to evaluate in vivo pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and efficacy (including study design, in vivo handling, dosing via numerous routes, blood and tissue sampling and data collection analysis and interpretation)

- Strong history of publication in peer-reviewed journals
